Title: Bête Noire (6)
Summary: The lives of two geniuses, overlapping and falling apart.
Rating/Warnings: Blood. And lots of it.
Fandom: Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog
Characters: Topher Brink and Billy
Spoilers: Omega, big time.
Author's Note: Hooray! Topher and Billy meet up again! This is the longest chapter yet, just as a warning. It's really long. Also, it required the most rewrites of any part of this story, including the chapters that got deleted and had to be completely rewritten from scratch.

Summary: The lives of two geniuses, overlapping and falling apart.
Rating/Warnings: There's no Topher in this one. It's all Billy.
Fandom: Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog
Characters: Topher Brink and Billy
Spoilers: None really. Possible allusions to the Moist comic, but nothing spoilery.
Author's Note: This chapter features only Billy with no Topher. I promise they meet up again in the next one. Also, sorry for the delay between these chapters. I was having some computer/motivation issues.

So, I briefly lost my motivation to write. I'm about six chapters ahead of the chapter I've got posted, by my rule is that I won't post a new chapter until I've written a complete one on that same day. I don't want to run the risk of having posted all my chapters and not having another one already ready to go. I've had the same chapter open and unfinished for about a week now, having lost the interest and motivation to keep writing, which is why nothing's been posted in a while.

However! I finally have my motivation back. I have a lot of plans for this story, and I'm really excited about continuing work on it. I feel like I'm in a good place with it, and I finally know where it's going to go.

That being said, I have a HUGE project due tomorrow that I've only partially started...so, despite my newfound enthusiasm, I think I might have to wait an extra day. I promise I'll post something tomorrow, seriously, I just need to type the new chapter and it'll be fine. I hate it when I'm reading something and the author takes forever to update, so I'm trying not to do that with this one, and I'm sorry it hasn't really been working.

Part as an apology, and part for my own amusement, I leave you with this:

Tee hehe...Dr. Horrible's deathray owns. I didn't make this gif, but it's epic.

I'm off to do a project. Thanks for being patient.

Going through my old documents file from High school, apparently at some point I was supposed to write an essay on the depiction of marriage within Pride and Prejudice, but forgot to do it, leading me to write this as my concluding paragraph:

"Basically, the idea of marriage as it exists today may seem completely different to how it was portrayed in Pride in Prejudice, but in reality, it’s really quite similar. We haven’t come very far. This is, of course, because Benedict didn’t want to get married, then decided he did, Casanova was happy either way as long as he had someone to talk to, and Beowulf was too busy slaying monsters to really care."

There are three pages of what I apparently called a "joke draft" of this paper. I guess I just had to have something written down, decent or not, so I wrote this.

I'm really glad I'm not sixteen anymore.

So, I've come to the conclusion that it's an extremely bad idea to drink on a Sunday night as it prevents you from having the stamina/motivation/ability-to-walk-in-brightly-lit-areas that is needed to get up and do pretty much anything. Granted, this is something I already knew, but, well...there was hockey. Hockey and it was Purim, so...you know.

The beer was not my original idea. I'd just like to point that out.

That being said, I feel like crap, to put it eloquently. My dreams last night were completely batshit, I have a headache that could kill, the sunlight coming in through my closed, blinded window is bothering me, and it just took me an hour and a half to successfully take a shower.

I am very much aware that this is my own fault.

Anyway, I'm probably just going to hang around here, let myself get over this, and never drink on a Sunday night ever again as long as I live. I have an appointment at one, which if I skip I'll die, so I'll probably drag myself out for that. But for the next few hours, I think I'll sit here and watch Dr. Horrible again, eat some fruit, take an aspirin, and curse the world of hockey for making it easy to drink to, and just generally want to crawl in a hole and die. Also! I might post another chapter, we'll see how this whole "being able to think" thing goes, though.

Oh, and Happy Purim.

Title: Bête Noire (4/?)
Summary: The lives of two geniuses, overlapping and falling apart.
Rating/Warnings: There's no Billy in this one, it's all just Topher.
Fandom: Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog
Characters: Topher Brink and Billy
Spoilers: The concept of Dollhouse? No specific episodes, just the concept.
Author's Note: This chapter, as well as the next one, only feature one of the characters. This one's about Topher, the next one's about Billy, then I promise they meet up again. It's a plot thing, unfortunately, they can't be together all the time or the story would fall apart. It's unfortunate, because sazz_k just made this epic Topher/Billy icon. Everyone love and appreciate it. Now.

This is kind of a pathetic request, but it's recently come to my attention that if I'm going to continue posting this fic, I need some sort of Topher/Billy icon of awesomeness.

The problem? I can't make icons. I used to, but I apparently no longer have photoshop.

Is anyone reading this an icon maker? Or does anyone know any icon makers? It would be really, really nice...

I realize this is kind of a stupid request, especially since I really have nothing to give in return. I could write a fic, maybe? Um...I could...uh...there's really not much else I can do.

So, yeah. Um...I really can't think of a better way to end this post, so I guess I'll just say thanks.

Thanks! And, sorry about this.

Summary: The lives of two geniuses, overlapping and falling apart.
Rating/Warnings: The piano. Enough said.
Fandom: Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog

Fuck. I've just lost half my fic, as well as all of the editing I had done to it once I started posting. I love my computer, I love my computer, I love my computer...

Anyway, the next chapter will be up in a bit. I'm going to DC for a few days, so I want to get the next chapter up before I leave, regardless of the fact that I now have to re-type at least 20 pages, and completely re-write an entire chapter...sigh. Luckily, the next few chapters were, in fact, saved so I'll still be able to post chapters on a pretty regular schedule. Hopefully.

Ok, so a video recently came out on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com which counted down the top eleven villain songs…I guess, ever written. It was a pretty good list, some things I whole-heartedly agreed with, while others I thought were a bit suspect. So, naturally, because I’m me and I’m trying to stall from writing my philosophy paper, it got me thinking about what songs I would put on that list. What do I think are the greatest villain songs ever?

Congratulations, you’re about to find out.

Now, as a lot people know, I take my villains very seriously. I have always been drawn to villainous characters, and nine times out of then I’m more likely to be a fan of the villain than the actual hero. I find villains more edgy, more truthful (if a bit exaggerated), and really just more interesting than your typical hero, and have always loved picking apart villains in just about anything I read, watch, or hear. The motive to do evil is so much more fascinating than the motive to do good, probably because in my own life I’m, I hope, usually more motivated to do good and treat people right. Why a person would want to be evil is something different and a bit more difficult to grasp for me, which is probably, ultimately, why I’m drawn to the subject.

Now, that being said. I’m also a fan of musicals. Stage musicals, animated musicals, movie musicals, musical episodes of random TV shows, British musical cop/crime/mystery dramas, you name it. If there’s music, chances are I’ll be into it. Being such a musical fan, as well as such a villain fan, this would, of course, make me a rather huge fan of villain songs. Just as villains are always the most interesting characters to me, villain songs are, by far, the best songs in any given musical. Well, at least in most of them. There are the occasional musicals which either don’t have a villain, have a non-singing villain, or whose villains songs just kind of suck. But, for the most part, the villains always get the best songs.

So, without further ado, I give you my list of the, not eleven, but twenty greatest villain songs I’ve ever heard. Why not eleven? Because there are too damn many of them. I’ve tried to provide links to the songs on YouTube, so that their awesomeness can be spread around. If I couldn’t find the song and you desperately want to hear it, let me know, and I’ll try to find a way to get it to you.
